Welcome to the Carmel Friends Youth Group web page! Since 2009, we have been meeting at Carmel Friends Church every Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM. Everyone high-school-age and older is welcome. In addition to our weekly meetings, we also hold many special events, such as lock-ins, dances, games, and Vacation Bible School. We are led by Kenny, Jim, and Joy Frush, as well as other volunteers and youth leaders.

We decided to start this youth group as a revival effort. Carmel Friends church had been without a youth pastor, group, or even a high-school-level Sunday school for quite some time. Through presentations at the Carmel Friends monthly meetings, as well as discussions with interested persons, our efforts caught the attention of Kenny Frush. With his help, we organized Wedbesday-night meetings, and started what would become the Carmel Friends Youth Group. Over time, as friends were invited and volunteers joined, the Youth Group expanded to include over a dozen members. We are still growing, and we hope to keep positively impacting our church, as well as our community.

Our normal meeting time, unless specified otherwise, is every Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM. Because we are a Christ-driven group, the structure of our meetings varies. However, typically Kenny Frush will share a lesson/topic of discussion. Depending on weather conditions, we can meet inside, outside, or even on the roof! Once we have discussed our topic and been through the lesson, we sometimes break into small groups, ranging from two to five people, and discuss our personal journeys with Christ. We also frequently play games; the most popular being dodgeball, football, and Nerf gun wars. Meetings typically last until 8:00-9:00, depending on the day.
In addition to our regular meeting times, we have also been known to meet at other times on a whim. Typically, these meetings occur on weekends, and the duration varies. They are organized via text messaging and calling.
We love planning special events, and they are always interesting and fun. In the past, we have had all-night lock-ins at the church, as well as Nerf wars lasting several hours at a time! Our most recent event was called "Church-Prom," and occurred on Friday night, May 14th, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. We decorated the dancing area with helium balloons, and we even had a DJ! Special events will be announced on the events section of this website as they are planned.
