Messy Church

Interactive ‘church’ for young families

Messy Church is an alternative to the conventional church service. It involves the whole family sharing in a fun, interactive church experience together. The word ‘Messy’ carries the idea of less structure and form, but it is still well organized.

Messy Church is built around families doing church together, rather than the parents attending an adult service while their family are separated for ‘children’s church’. It is pitched at young families or single parents, and works best when the children are aged from 2 years thru 8 or 9 years, but works well with older children too.

Messy Church is a monthly event with a theme around which every activity thing is centered.

Creative Time

The first part involves the whole family doing simple craft or fun activities where each family moves from one table or activity to another.

Celebration Time

All the families sit together for a fun and interactive ‘service’. It involves a time of singing, a story, and a fun memory verse, all related to the theme of the day.

Hospitality Time

In the third part all the leaders and families enjoy a meal together.

Messy Church is held on the 1st Saturday of each month at 4:30pm at our church at 651 W. Main Street, Carmel.
